Biography
The Honourable Roger Cook MLA is the Premier of Western Australia.
He was born and raised in Perth as the youngest among his six siblings.
From an early age, his parents instilled the values of passion, fairness, and being an engaged member of the community.
Roger was elected as the member for Kwinana in 2008.
Since the election of the Labor Government in 2017, Roger has been an integral member of the leadership team and Cabinet, serving in a number of key portfolios.
He served as Deputy Premier for six years before becoming the 31st Premier following the retirement of the Honourable Mark McGowan MLA in June 2023.
Roger is a strong advocate for health and fitness, having participated in regular triathlons and marathons. He’s also an avid supporter of the Western Force and Fremantle Dockers.

Biography
Paul Garvey has been a reporter in Perth and Hong Kong for more than 14 years. He has been a mining and oil and gas reporter for the Australian Financial Review, as well as an editor of the paper's Street Talk section. He joined The Australian in 2012. His joint investigation of Clive Palmer's business interests with colleagues Hedley Thomas and Sarah Elks earned two Walkley nominations.
